Problem: How and why is it essential to remove single-serve plastics in the food industry to help positively impact our waste stream and become more responsible and sustainable? Brief Overview: Two significant clients (fortune 100) have asked my company to remove single-serve plastics from their food service operations across the Globe by January 2023. My problem seems simple in question but more complex in scope and execution. My project will focus on the adverse effects we have had from single-serve plastic, what current damage it has had on our waste stream, and why it is essential to mitigate and move to a different way of serving our food service customers and our clients. The food industry significantly impacts waste diversion, and the need is greater than the financial savings.
